"A Flower is like a human face. Here for a time and then gone, forever."- W. J. Karr

Snapshots in time. I am grateful for the opportunity to capture images frozen in time. There are so many chances in this life to look deeper into ourselves and discover the beauty within. Every photo has a story or additional information attached.

Mine Cart

MINE ORE CART

This photo was taken at the entrance to a mine shaft in the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area. Upon review of the photos taken here, I found this one that was taken just as a drop of water fell from the ceiling, caused a disturbance in the misty atmosphere and just hit the surface of the water below causing its ripples to begin their journey.

LEOPARD LILY

One of the most beautiful flowers in the area is the Leopard Lily. Growing up to 5 feet tall and preferring wet areas with lots of sunlight. This plant is both a medicinal and an edible with its root bulb harvested as a food source while taking great care to plant the small root scales in order that the balance of nature be maintained.
